When I heard Sydney was dating someone who was from Honduras I was intrigued.  A few years passed, I photographed her sister's wedding and soon I got a message.  Manfredo had proposed and they were getting married!  I was so excited that Sydney would choose me to photograph their wedding.  They are going to get married this fall in Kansas City at Powell Gardens.  Sydney and Manfredo are living in Cincinnati but Sydney's family is here in KC.  I was very excited when she said they would be in town for her bridal shower over Memorial weekend and wondered if I would be available to do their engagement portraits.  OF COURSE!  Sydney debated between doing the pictures at Powell Gardens or else where.  She landed on the west bottoms.  A great spot for a variety of backdrops!  It's always fun to walk around in the west bottoms and imagine what the world looked like when it was the center of Kansas City's livestock exchange.  Of course there are several business still there, fun shops and what not.  But the history you can see on the brick walls is amazing.
