I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. In 8th grade we had to put together a 'pretend' business and mine was of course a portrait studio. I went on to get professional training in college at the University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg, MO. Having this knowledge allows me to handle natural light situations while also being capable of controlling the light when needed.
I love photography so much I literally get a high after each session. It makes my world a happy place. Photography has given me such a purpose, to be able to be creative and explore new (and old) places with my clients as they invite me into their lives to celebrate and document their milestones.
Still curious ... there is more to me than just photography! I love being silly, playing board games, taking long walks with friends, and pizza. Yeah that's right pizza, it fascinates me how many different ways there are to make pizza! Taco, Hawaiian, pepperoni, deep dish, square, round, we could go on and on. My two favorite pizza places are Gino's East (in Chicago) and Spin Pizza. Yum! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!
I love to just chill, watching tv in the evenings to wind down ... Naked and Afraid (how do they do it??? I could never even get out of the vehicle to begin the adventure!!!), My Big Fat Fabulous Life, This is Us (so sad the series ended!), .... of course a good romantic comedy is up my alley in regards to movies. I also really find movies about true stories interesting. I love hearing about other peoples stories of where they came from and how they got to be who they are.
I also love how we are all different. I think this makes the world go round. Finding out why people do things differently than me fascinates me. I know they have a good reason I just didn't ever think of. And I totally think it's okay to disagree. Possibly one of my favorite sayings is ... Let's agree to disagree. Different things are right for different people. The world would be a pretty boring place if we were all the same. Thanks for reading, can't wait to meet you and hear more about you!
See those two beautiful ladies over there ---> They are the reason I am a photographer. My dad's mom always had pictures of the family taken and always bought the biggest package. I totally recommend that because after she passed when we were going through her things there were still copies of many pictures from Olan Mills and what not that we could pass around and share. My mom's mom took so many pictures and helped me gain the joy of taking a picture on a film camera, sending it off to the lab to be developed and waiting until they were ready (like a week later!) I remember she had pictures from all sorts of occasions (casual, travel, family visits) and all through her years, that are so much fun to go through and look at.
