One of the best compliments given to me as a family photographer is when a repeat client asks me to photograph the biggest day of their lives, their wedding day! I photographed Cayleigh’s senior pictures so I was thrilled when she and her mom, Carol, met with me to discuss Cayleigh and Chase's wedding plans. After the meeting and hearing all the details I was super excited and could not wait for September to arrive!
The day of the wedding, I could tell why Cayleigh and Chase fell in chose with their venue, The Rhapsody in Independence, Missouri. This was my first opportunity to shoot there so I was delighted to see everything it had to offer. The owners have done a fabulous job making it a bride (and photographer’s!) dream. The Bridal suite has a red velvet couch and mirrors galore. The Rhapsody also has a great outside area for the ceremony including evergreens (perfect for year round outdoor pictures), a waterfall and a gorgeous pergola! Inside is a beautiful chandelier that accented the bride and groom giving their photography an incredibly elegant look! I already felt lucky to have such an amazing and beautiful couple to work with; the location was the icing on the (wedding) cake!
Wedding day pictures were very important to Cayleigh, so she had planned plenty of time for us to get a good variety of images including groupings of both families, the wedding party, lots of the bride and groom and of course the details of the day. Thank goodness Chase knew this ahead of time because he was such a trooper to work to make sure Cayleigh’s vision became reality. Cayleigh is so lucky to have him! And he is just as lucky to have her! Cayleigh is kind, thoughtful and a sweet, sweet person.
I love wedding days because it allows me to get to know my clients even better, as weddings are more intricate than a single portrait session. Getting to be there to capture the moments before the dress goes on, the oohs and ahs of all the ladies after the dress is on (Look at this girl! Isn't she gorgeous!!), when the groomsmen joke around with the groom to ease his nerves, when the bride and groom see each other for the first time and all those special moments that help create a magical day. This wedding was no different! Cayleigh and Chase both have wonderful families. It was a joy getting to see how much of a family they already are all together. Watching them all get along so well and celebrating Cayleigh and Chase's love was a delight.
Here are just a few of the fabulous images we captured together that day.
