The holidays are such a wonderful family time!  It's the one time a year that everyone makes a big effort to get together.  They don't sing about being home for the holidays for nothing!  And with everyone home, it makes it the perfect time to schedule a photo session with your local photographer.  It's even better when the session is a gift for the people who you love the most - Mom and Dad!

That is exactly what Kirsten did this year!  She contacted me this fall to set up a family session as a gift to her parents. Since the day after Christmas is the first lull in the holiday activities, we scheduled it then.  Kirsten and her sister, Brooke had all the outfits picked out ahead of time so everyone would coordinate.  Sometimes that is the hardest part of a family session, I even recently wrote a blog about it, which you can read here. The sisters were so thoughtful about what everyone would wear, I think you will agree with me - they did a fantastic job!  Man, I wish they would surprise me with a photo session and have the outfits ready!  Ha!

I love all the adventures photography takes me to but it really does feel good to get back to my roots; shooting families in my studio.  I also love getting a variety of poses and groupings; the more family members involved, the more choices I have.  Siblings - parents - couples - grandkids; it is a great opportunity to showcase all the different relationships families have to offer. 

Kirsten and her family were a delight to photograph during this holiday season!  Not only are they a great looking family, but they are also a lot of fun to work with which makes my job even better!
