There is something about seeing a ballerina dancing in the snow that evokes memories of sugar plum fairies, it's like a dream the whole Nutcracker ballet plays out in my head. With tutus and pointe shoes in hand, Rebecca showed up to her recent photo session so we could capture a part of that Nutcracker magic with the beautiful newly fallen Kansas City snow as a backdrop. I was so excited to photograph her gorgeous tutu in the winter scenery, and her burnt orange leotard was the perfect pop of color! I just love how they photographed against the white snow. And her graceful poses really make the image! And on top of that she is the most gorgeous brown eyes!!! Quite the beauty.
Snow sessions in the winter always produce the most dramatic photos and this session is no different. The fact that Rebecca loves snow and cold weather made it even better. Shooting in her favorite weather and something she loves the most - ballet - was the perfect combo!
Rebecca has been dancing at Fearless Dance Center in Raymore, MO for almost eleven years and competing for seven. Fearless Dance Center has a team of highly experienced teachers who train students from 2 years of age to adults. They offer a wide range of classes such as tap, jazz, ballet, and hip hop. (My own daughter took hip hop there when she was younger and LOVED Miss Tara, a former Chiefs Cheerleader.) Rebecca has been taking pointe for about two years and her grace is something to be noted. It takes real commitment and strength to hold these poses.
Rebecca's family is a repeat client, so they did not have to google "picture places near Me". A couple years ago we did family portraits at a local Lee's Summit Location. You can see one of my favorite images from that session as the header photo HERE. And last year I got to photograph their oldest, Kellen's, senior portraits. They are such a kind and sweet family!!
